Product Approval

The Medicines and Procedures Panel (MaPP) of the Institute of Podiatrists comprises a team of clinical podiatry and foot health professionals. MaPP is passionate about the innovation and development of products for foot health. From initial concept to product development and evaluation. MaPP is responsible for product approval and Institute recognition.

The critical evaluation process of MaPP ensures that a product meets the highest podiatric standards and regulatory requirements of our professional body. This process involves evaluating the clinical and scientific data presented, patient evaluation, and clinician validation to confirm the product's claims in terms of safety, quality, and effectiveness.

Achieving the Institutes product approval means a product has been fully tested and evaluated by podiatrists and foot health professionals for the benefit of podiatrists, foot health professionals and their patients.

There is no charge for MaPP to review or develop products.

Should a product developer, manufacturer or distributor wish to have the product endorsed by the Institute we have 2 different packages:

Gold - Includes use of IoP logo on trade website and product packaging including marketing materials. The company logo features on IoP accredited products page (members area and homepage scrolling banner) An advertorial feature in our membership and University quarterly journals - Podiatry Review and discounts on any additional adverts placed in the podiatry review.
