Professional membership for HCPC registered podiatrists and chiropodists

The Institute of Podiatrists seeks to serve, develop and inspire the podiatry profession, actively collaborating with regulatory bodies such as the health and care professions council (hcpc), the medicines and healthcare products regulatory agency (mhra) and various other professional health boards. This ensures that members adhere to, and provide, the highest ethical and professional standards in foot health and lower limb care.

Our Board of Directors comprises experienced HCPC-registered podiatrists, who are committed to providing valuable insights and resources to support the growth and advancement of the podiatry profession. Through our initiatives, we aim to guide and inspire both current and future generations of podiatrists, ensuring excellence in the field.

Nail reconstruction

In today’s foot health practices, damaged nails are a common concern among patients, often stemming from trauma, fungal infections, nail surgery, or various medical conditions. As part of a comprehensive treatment plan, toenail reconstruction can be a fantastic, temporary cosmetic solution—sometimes the only viable option for restoring the appearance of a damaged nail.

Dermal Filler of the feet

This course is open to all HCPC-registered Podiatrists with POM-A certification. Hyaluronan and synthetic filler injections, typically combined with a local anesthetic, are used to enhance tissue volume in areas where elasticity has diminished. For instance, the soft tissue under the forefoot or heel may lose its padding, leading to joint pain (Metatarsalgia). Similarly, toe joints can develop bony prominences that contribute to corns and ulcers due to friction. In such cases, tissue fillers act as an internal cushion, helping to alleviate pain and prevent further damage for several months.
